Dear Friends,

Fall is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Time does not slow down for anyone and certainly not for us at Pine Ridge Ministries. This fall has been exceptionally busy as we have been able to pioneer our very first adult retreats. We had the privilege to minister to over 150 adults this fall. Our camps were held at Young Life’s beautiful Trail West facilities located in Buena Vista, Colorado. We were treated with wonderful service packaged in excellent accommodations. Our first camp was for our “Young at Heart” senior adults with Dr. Wendell Heller as the key note speaker. It was a tremendous time of encouragement and exhortation from God’s Word. Almost forty seniors were in attendance which is a great start. Between our sessions, the seniors were able to enjoy the facilities which included spacious decking overlooking beautiful scenery, playing games, having wonderful fellowship, and enjoying lots of food. On one of the days, we were able to take a trip to see the authentic ghost town of Saint Elmo’s. There we were able to enjoy some of the rich history of Colorado where over 120 mining claims were established in the late 1800’s. Some of our more adventurous seniors made their way up to Cottonwood Pass and hiked up over 12,000 feet in elevation.
Following right behind our “Young at Heart” retreat was our Couples Conference with over 54 couples attending. We were honored to have Dr. Greg Mazak as our keynote speaker. During the retreat our couples were challenged in many areas including basing our marriages on Gods word, establishing godly communications, and defining what true love really is. It was fun to see our couples enjoy their free time, which included tennis, basketball, Frisbee golf, hiking through the golden Aspens, and making their way through the high ropes and cables course.
We were blessed with two well-attended, God-honoring retreats this year. The dates for our fall 2008 retreats are September 15-18 for our “Young at Heart” conference and September18-20 for our couples retreat. We already have folks who are signed up. Praise the Lord!
Now our attention moves to making plans for next year’s summer camp. We are excited about the opportunity to offer another great week at Crooked Creek Ranch in Fraser, Colorado. Teen Camp is scheduled for May 26-31, 2008. Our speaker will be Brother Kevin Brownfield. What better way to kick off the summer than to go to camp where kids will be encouraged to take the next step in their spiritual walk. We hope you will mark your calendars and join us next summer for an action-packed week in the Colorado Rockies.
We want to say thanks again for so many of you who support Pine Ridge with your prayers and finances. Please pray for us as we continue to raise support for the ministry. As you can imagine, it takes a lot of time to organize and run camps, but it also takes finances. If you do not currently support Pine Ridge, please prayerfully consider what God would have you do.

Camping for Christ,

Brian Olsen and Family
