Baptisms

“Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4

No matter the age, baptism is an exciting event in a person's life. As Christ was baptized in the Jordan River by John, we too are baptized as a sign and seal of our faith in Jesus. In our baptism, we identify with Christ in his. Just as Christ died, we too die to sin and its effects on our lives and are raised to new life in Jesus Christ. As Jesus rises from the waters of baptism into eternal glory, so too will we be cleansed of sin and raised from death to life. No matter our age, our baptism is a sign that God has, in Christ, fulfilled all that is needed for our redemption. God is at work redeeming our lives long before we can respond in faith to his grace.

Christian baptism is an important event that should be carefully considered; whether for an adult who genuinely desires to be baptized as a sign of their commitment in Christ, or for a child whose family members desire the child to be baptized as a sign of their commitment to raise the child in a Christian household and with the help of the Body of Christ, the Church. As such, it is the practice of our pastor to meet with the baptismal candidate and/or their family for at least six (6) sessions prior to the actual baptism. And because our faith in Christ is built up, encouraged, and even held up by the faithful witness of other Christians, at Pine Ridge Ministries, we celebrate the sacrament of baptism within a regular worship service. We welcome the opportunity to visit about potential baptisms. Please click here to contact our pastor.

Weddings

Wedding Rings

"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." Ephesians 4:2

A wedding is indeed a sacred ceremony - celebrating the love a couple has for one another and the start of the lifelong commitment of shared life. For couples desiring to be married, we would gladly embrace the opportunity to visit with you about your desire to begin your married life together. Recognizing that marriage is the ultimate goal of a wedding ceremony, and that sustaining a marriage can often be a challenge that few are prepared for, our pastor does require at least six (6) sessions of marriage preparation work with the couple prior to the wedding. Please click here to contact our pastor.

Funerals

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4

If you have recently lost a loved one, let us first express our sincere condolences. We understand how complicated and unsettling the grief process is. If possible, we would be honored to assist you in your time of need. Our pastor is available to officiate and/or assist with services (both public and private) designed to honor the life of the deceased and comfort those left behind in a manner consistent with faith in God, and hope of the resurrection through Jesus Christ.
